One of our Members brought up a great question!  What abdominal exercises can she be doing while she is progressing through the Mommy Ready Program?  

Although, my best advice is to stick strictly with the Program sequencing and remain consistent with the EXACT exercises of each phase, I know that we are impatient and want to do MORE.  I know, because I have been the same as I progress myself through the program.

I have been taking classes at my local gym and most classes have a core sequence at some point or another.  A good trainer will give you options and warn against doing an exercise that increases back pain or improper form.  I also like to have my own set of rules.

Being a mom is one of the toughest, yet most rewarding jobs in the world. Sounds cliche, I know. Before I became a mom, I never knew just how much physical strength mommy-ing requires. Lifting, holding, bending, pushing. All with a wriggling 10 pound being that can't even hold his head up!  

So how do I become the Super Mom, that takes care of my Super Baby? 

Here at Mommy Ready, we've found that finding Super Strength comes through correct core function. Learning how to use your core muscles (abs, pelvic floor, etc.) properly after childbirth is what we teach you in the Mommy Ready Postpartum program.

When Mommy Ready founder, Heather Christensen, first told me about her journey creating this program, it felt like serendipity. She had combined some of my favorite subjects both personally (as a Mom) and professionally (as an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist) into one great program that encourages women to become strong for life and health. Intellectually, I understood that return to higher level heavy, repetitive, coordinated, and dynamic activities (mommy work) after birthing a baby requires strengthening the core first, but applying that to myself is a journey that has led me to seek help from the Mommy Ready Program.
